On May 25 we finally leave the imaginative, compassionate, and somehow confusing shores of Pisces to see Mars decidedly enter the sign of Aries, his home sign where he will come to shoulder the mighty Jupiter with drive and fervor. And this up to Jul 5.
The last time we experienced this wildfire we were granted an extra dose of oomph with Mars going retrograde, but it coincided with the end of the first wave of lockdown in June 2020 and the return to “normal” life, we bathed six months in this bullying energy rather than the usual month and half. Of course, it went retrograde between September and November, highlighting that our actions would not be conducive: we all had to experience a second wave of lockdown before the end of it.
The cycle of Mars since the beginning of the Pandemic is highly correlated to the virulence of the original virus and the following strains; especially when forming hard aspects with either Saturn or Pluto who both triggered this worldwide event.
Even though there is a lot to rejoice about this new passage of Mars in the sign of joy, passion for life, experience, travel and innocence, there’s also a lot we should be mindful of if we do not want innocence to become sheer naivety.
A quick reminder for everybody. Mars represents the energy of our passion, drive, physical strength, assertiveness, and will power.
Mars is also the god of War, Ares in Greek. Therefore, there is no obstacle to this energy flowing strong in this sign placement. Aries is also a Cardinal sign, bringing a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the beginning of new projects.
You can expect this energy to manifest fireworks of action and initiative of all sorts. Mars is very impulsive, impetuous, and brave. Our fears tend to dissolve magically during this transit and, before we realize it, we are doing things we never believed we would dare do.
This energy is very self-centric.
We no longer need others to do things and with Jupiter in the same sign, you will find yourself crossing a lot of your old boundaries on your own. Your impatience and desires are greater than your need for others to be around or ready. Similarly, we will have quite a challenging time dealing with others standing in our path and will likely ram into them.
Aries will favor brute strength and speed, honesty and efficiency, experience over theory. There is an innocent thirst for new life situations, people and places and a strong will to do things before even thinking and learn this way.
This energy will be extremely strong with Jupiter already in the same sign since May 11. The two eclipses will have likely shaken our lives out of the misery they were in, aggravated or significantly changed our situations and prompted us to action. If in Pisces we were invited to be more compassionate with others, reflect on our past actions and imagine or dream the life we really wanted, in Aries, we are suddenly roused to go get it.
Of course, there’s always two sides to every astrological medal.
Mars in Aries can get us to be forceful in our ways, too direct, too honest, almost aggressive, or tactless. It can also push us to ignore the dangers, drive us to become reckless or rely too much on our physical strength. We can also end up becoming hyper focused, developing tunnel vision, forgetting about others and failing to realize that we leave some people behind or hurt their feelings before it is too late.
Even though we will all be swallowed by this strong action vortex, remaining conscious of our initial selfless and pure intentions as well as the vulnerable state we were in at the beginning of this period will go a long way into avoiding the many invisible traps of this end of Spring and Summer.
Mars in Aries will simply catapult us into the Summer, get us to split open the belly of our last fears charge through seemingly insurmountable barriers and boldly spearhead our biggest dreams, projects and will to reality.
First off, we will not just witness it or remotely feel it, we will embody it.
The Moon is exactly conjunct Mars when it enters Aries. In other words, we will feel it in all our body: strong, sexy, attractive, brave. Our emotions will be aroused, our instincts work much faster, and our fighting spirit very much alive and kicking.
The flip side of this conjunction?
Impatience, some strong emotions that are hard to control, a higher irritability and a growing tendency to give orders and have little patience for their implementation. If you really cannot properly channel this energy over the period, expect it to burst from time to time.
There are only really two recommendations to this placement: please make sure that you plan for a LOT of physical exercise or outdoor adventures, and when you struggle, focus on investing your energy in someone you really care about. Grounding it as much as possible will be critical if you want to avoid anger or conflict.
Mars is also really close in the steps of Jupiter. It is a hell of a lot of fiery bold energy packed up for you. Whatever you focus your attention on from a project standpoint, please make sure that it is really, really big and difficult. Definitely the time to volunteer for suicide operations, pioneer in all directions, raise your hand for firefighting and rescue missions. Possibly less for tasks requiring patience, diplomacy, and a lot of attention to detail unless you have a noticeably clear focus or target.
Pluto and Mercury both sextile will land you an extra dose of passion, determination, focus, magnetism and collaborative spirit.
There are however three things you should pay particular attention to over the period:
You will need to assert your power, there is very little question, some might have a rather hard time with that on one hand, but you could also become very touchy and sensitive when people start commenting on your life directions. Avoid impulsive reactions, especially around Jun 1.
Being brave and bold is one thing, becoming overconfident or overexuberant is another. You will need to know when to stop and be extremely aware of any line you accidentally cross over the period, especially around May 30.
As this energy ramps up, you might soon become too dominant in your urge to see things through or suffer others’ attempts at controlling you what might lead to power struggles and conflicts. Do strive for success, but please do so in a careful way, keep jealousy, manipulation, and ruthlessness out of your path, there’s very little chance that you will win this fight, especially if it involves more powerful individuals. Avoid making enemies, especially around Jul 2.
Around that very same time, early July, we should finally know which new variant will come to derail our lives once again at the end of the Summer. Expect this new variant to be much more lethal, fast to operate and destabilizing for our systems than the previous ones, as most governments and people have already moved on. Thankfully, this is also the last wave of it.
This energy will be good for:
May 30 – Jun 1 You can make it extra big, just pay attention to others as crossing lines could be very easy. Others will not exactly be forgiving on those days. Either plan for the heist of the century or the ascent of Everest.
Jun 15 Your will or attempt to assert yourself could be obstructed. Learn to turn the anger, the shame, and the pain of being a mortal human into strength and compassion. You CAN do what you want AND be compassionate and thoughtful, at the same time.
Jun 28 If you are involved in projects aiming at correcting imbalances, supporting social justice and improving things for the collective then the New Moon in Cancer will be a pivotal moment. Note that Jun 16 and Jul 3 are also important dates you can build on. For most, this is also the opportunity to act bravely to see any injustice you have been the victim of effectively considered by authorities.
Jul 2 Exercise extra restraint if you do not want to make new enemies.
Jul 5 Look for collaborative efforts to prevail. The partnerships you will forge during this time might give birth to a formidable winning team.
