Jupiter in Taurus is a relatively rare event that occurs roughly once every 12 years. Since the 20th century, there have been eight transits of Jupiter in Taurus, including the upcoming one in 2023.
The most recent transits occurred in 2011-2012, 1999-2000, 1988-1989, 1976-1977, 1964-1965, 1952-1953, 1940-1941, and 1928-1929.

Jupiter appears to be either unaspected, being free to wield its blessings, or harmoniously aspected during the first periods, while in stressful aspects at the beginning of the latter periods of crisis.
The 2023 transit of Jupiter in Taurus starts with not one but two stressful aspects to Jupiter, one with Mars, indicating that the period we inherit might stem from an excessive use of violence or willpower, and the other one with Pluto, highlighting the potentially destructive – but truly generationally transformative – essence of this period.
The last time Jupiter was square Pluto during its entrance in Taurus was in May 1940.
Even though we do not foresee the Ukrainian conflict to escalate, all the ingredients start gathering from May for escalation to occur, especially the ego boost in Leo. There is very little doubt, however, that May will mark a major milestone in the conflict, either through a premature attack of a badly prepared and equipped Ukrainian forces on Russian lines, the collapse of Russian forces or the excessive use of violence by a delirious despot, especially around Zaporizhzhia. This summer will also see a major turn in this conflict with either a peace treaty or an escalation of the mobilization.
While this conflict is likely to play a substantial role in the material difficulties we are about to experience, we believe that for the greater number the challenges will mostly be economic, resource and financial.
The fragility of the banking system highlighted during the first passage of Pluto at 29 degrees of Capricorn between February and March will grow much bigger starting from early June.
Even though a fix might be proposed during the first half of June, fighting simultaneously on the economic and diplomatic fronts might be too much for all leaders to handle. We should all know the state of the global environment for this transit by the end of August.
Also note that this initial outburst of energy might manifest itself under the guise of unexpected economic and financial growth, clearly lacking sound foundations and thus extremely volatile.
However, if this transit starts with a bang and some serious challenges to deal with in 2023, our steady and conscientious efforts should be crowned with outstanding and liberating results. At the end of this transit, Jupiter will conjunct both Uranus in April and Venus (its transit ruler) in May 2024, providing ample, if somewhat unexpected, opportunities and showing us where we can be grateful for what we have. Things will get much more explosive, creative, and unconventional, with popular rebellions and scientific breakthroughs forebode by Jupiter conjunct Uranus mid-April 2024. This aspect can bring sudden changes, innovative ideas, and revolutionary energy that challenges the status quo. It is a time to embrace experimentation, open-mindedness, and visionary thinking. This will be an exciting time for innovation, creativity, and thinking outside the box.
