While Pisces and Taurus will be playing soothing second roles in 2023 with the respective ingress of our two social planets Saturn and Jupiter in more receptive signs, the real action heroes of our yearly sky are none other than Aquarius & Leo.
If we talked extensively about the rebellious, progressive, and humanitarian Aquarius with the first entrance of Pluto in this sign (between March and June of this year), Leo now deserves its full 5 months of glory in our books.
With no less than 6 planets or asteroids transiting this sign in between May and September, all being activated by powerful and obsessive Pluto in opposition as soon as they enter this royal sign, we are up for quite a fiery theatrical festival of the best and the worst of the Leo energy this whole summer.
The sign of Leo is traditionally associated with Optimism, Fun, Drama, Creativity and Leadership. Ruled by the Sun, it can be as warming, vitalizing and inspiring as blinding and scorching. And yes, the line can be thin between a genuine heartfelt intention and a very selfish ego-move.
The sign of Leo is unquestionably generous and seemingly extraordinarily confident, but this is just because many of those born with the sun, moon or rising in Leo are innately gifted with a flair for drama, knowing how to elicit a whole range of emotions among their audiences. At their core, they might feel more awkward and exposed than you may ever realize. If many will “fake it till they make it”, most aspire to be seen, recognized, appreciated, and sometimes adored for their warmth, optimism, noble heart, and courage. What many struggle to understand is that it takes a lot of vulnerability to be honest, cheer up others and express positive vibes in a world where discussing limits and criticizing others is the rule. However, when those signs of approval and love fail to materialize, Leo natives can become judgmental, authoritarian, superior and obnoxious, betrayed by vanity, pride and all the negative traits of an inflated wounded ego.
We all have Leo in our natal chart. This portion of the chart points to an area of our life we are proud of, give a lot but also want to be loved and appreciated for. This is a part we strive to express creatively, and we can radiate our light and heart through naturally. If ego-centric motivations can be set aside, this is also something we can be truly recognized for and even shine in.

A dystopian real-life period that will see a society that pits the wounded child of mature adults against each other in a fight for survival, sparking rebellion and revolution.
During the transit of Mars in Leo, not only will we be given the energy to focus on that part, we will also be given the courage, the instinctive response and the desire to do so for both the defense of a noble fight we feel closely connected to and the fulfilment of our greater destiny.
Lilith has been transiting this part of our chart since the beginning of the year and will continue to do so up to October.
Lilith is associated with the archetype of the “rebel.” She represents the energy of the outsider, the marginalized, and the oppressed. Her rebellious energy can also be seen in the movements for social justice, equality, and human rights and can sometimes manifest in more negative ways, such as in the form of destructive rebellion or nihilism. In some cases, Lilith’s energy can lead to anarchy, chaos, and upheaval.
At its core, the transit of Lilith in Leo is about reclaiming our sovereignty and embracing our unique creativity. The archetype of Leo is all about self-expression and creativity, and when Lilith transits through this sign, it can help us to tap into our own creativity and bring our unique gifts to the forefront.
During this transit, we may feel a sense of restlessness and a desire to break free from anything that is holding us back from expressing ourselves fully. We may also feel a sense of rebelliousness, as we resist anything that feels like it is trying to control us or stifle our creative energy.
Psychologically, this transit can bring up deep-seated fears around our own power and creativity. We may struggle with feelings of self-doubt or a sense of unworthiness that can prevent us from fully embracing our own potential.
Wherever you have been experiencing this energy of guilt, shame, rejection, insubordination or missed opportunity is where Mars, Venus, Mercury, the Sun and Juno will soon be activated to transform your life, leadership or business.
Mars will first be involved in a rather intense incident following the entrance of Jupiter in Taurus, reactivating the point of our last solar eclipse and likely to deeply shake our sense of security and control, exposing the failures of our current leaders. Whether this is manifesting in world events or within your direct environment, we will all be likely to feel almost catapulted into action and given an opportunity to show our true colors.
The entry of Venus in Leo in the first half of June might just be as dramatic, but with Mars & Venus now both in Leo, expressing ourselves with grace and passion might become easier as our actions will grow more aligned with our values up to the end of July.
With Mars leaving Leo and Venus slowing down in July before turning retrograde on July 23, our focus might change but not our heart. This might be a time when we are being challenged to seriously review our set of values, priorities, relationships and partners for the time will have come to take a break, to realize our excesses, to integrate the brave experiences of this spring and to get down to work with humility, but we could be entangled in ego conflicts that could blind us and make us walk straight into an abyss by excess of pride.
Whatever you believe you can do during this time, set an alarm clock for the end of July to remind yourself that you have less than two weeks to reduce your sail and harbour your ship as safely as possible for what is to follow. No matter how high, worked up or psyched you might be when the alarm rings, your agenda should be set on planning and detoxing and navigating compromises with the necessary partnership and compromises in order to weather the next big storm.
The new moon in Leo on Aug 16 will reactivate the themes we shared with you around the lunar eclipse in Scorpio. Conjunct Lilith and trine Eris, the rebellious divine feminine will be at work to trigger the events that will reshape the world and bring it back into balance.
From then on, we might have to give up a little of our power if we want to consolidate new partnership and unions, but it will be with the confidence that the other truly appreciate us for what we have to bring and the peace of mind that we can finally be heard and appreciated for the best we have to offer.
