Moon-light
In this section, I spend more time diving into the cosmic tonality of this rare moon and what it might manifest on your way across the next two to four weeks.
We have a very interesting new moon in Libra this year, quite charged with the ambivalence of the sign:
torn between strong individualistic urges and the need to work towards relationship ideals.
With Mars and Venus in close aspects, ambitions, need for pleasures and love, deep instincts are likely to strongly spice things up… but might somehow be extremely frustrated by an overarching need to maintain social harmony.
Uranus is also triggering unexpected events likely to stress the need for a change we might not exactly have been ready for.
Opposite Chiron, old wounds and traumas are extremely likely to be reactivated. Beyond the flawed narratives we remember to be at the source of those painful emotions, what is truly reawakened now is our core existential wound, our right to be, to exist and to find our purpose and by extension to happiness. This new moon holds the potential for deep healing assuming those feelings are not repressed, that the light of consciousness can be brought on our subconscious behaviors and limiting beliefs and that corrective action is being taken.
Close to Mercury, we are likely to be experiencing busy social times, (which may not help with the increasing need to focus on true change and relationship issues) but may point to what should be more conducive of breakthroughs: honest communication and the contemplation of alternative scenarios.
This new moon is also a pivotal moment of the year.
Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter will all move direct out of their six-month retrograde before the next Full Moon.
After a whole summer of internalizing their lessons, we will now see their energy emerge externally again.
Mercury is still retrograde in the same of sign of Libra up to Oct 17. Highlighting that our relationships will be at the core of the problems AND solutions.
The second 2021 Pluto-Eris square will form over the next two weeks. Compared to the rather low key first aspect in September, the next one will now be activated by 3 personal planets locked in a very strong energy pattern with this square and is highly likely to bring abusive situations to the surface which might trigger the disruption of social order. For memory both the #metoo and BLM movements had been triggered by this formation.
The Pandora papers are also a perfect illustration of the manifestation of this energy, coming 5 years after the release of the Panama and Paradise papers both activated by the Uranus-Eris conjunction of 2016-17, they all describe the abuse of multinational corporations, billionaires and politicians in tax evasions at the expense of a majority of regular taxpayers.
This new moon is rich in multiple scenarios
Some might make the best of its strong sexual vibes to deepen their relationship. But even that route might see the divergence of your desires within the couple, creating issues that will need to be cleared out.
For others, old relationship problems are likely to reemerge but hold the potential to be healed if both parties can hold space and listen to each other… the best solutions this year will be those reconciling the old and the new, agreeing on what the strong base is, identifying what is no longer sustainable and inviting new solutions to be discussed.
There is also a high likelihood that communication is weak in partnership, whether at home or at work, and that our personal desires or wishes will be thwarted by the need to keep the status quo. However, such situations are likely to very quickly become unsustainable, escalate and lead to impulsive reactions or decisions you might deeply regret later.
All point to the need to:
Venus is in a rather karmic position (conjunct the South Node) and as the ruler of the Moon, holds a particular influence during this new moon:
You might hold back your love or resist to opening up about it with someone in particular.
Ironically this New Moon holds the potential to not only bring emotional healing,
but also the love you always desired if you stop holding back and open up.
Enough with the headlines though and let’s talk specifics.
This New Moon will be exactly conjunct Mars and that in itself would be enough to make this lunation very special. The last time we had such a New Moon was in June 2015 in Gemini, 6 years ago.
Mars is not comfortable in Libra.
Libra is ruled by Venus, goddess of beauty, peace and harmony… so when our brave and impetuous warrior god must remain peaceful for no good reason this can end up becoming frustrating…
Now, imagine when the Sun – the light of our consciousness, our energy – and the Moon – our emotions, our instincts, our body needs, our subconscious, our feeling of safety – meet our warrior in the complete darkness of the night in that rather uncomfortable territory.
What sort of stories will they share?
One thing is certain, our energy is likely to be at peak level. How we are going to deal with that is the crux of this new moon.
Mars wants us to assert our needs, fight our corner, get what we want and put ourselves first. The sign this new moon occurs is however all about the others, listening to their needs and ensuring that a fair and fulfilling collaboration can take place.
The two might not always be reconcilable and that is what we will need to learn to manage over the next two to four weeks. There is very little question about who’s supposed to prevail though: the Sun focuses on the need to harmonize and develop our vision of peace. We will therefore have no other good choice than to deal with our (Moon) instincts and feelings to ensure that peace and love is what we effectively act (Libra) towards.
This new moon like all the lunations from August 2021 to March 2022 are under Uranus’ influence so we are currently seriously challenged to change, awaken and consequently either experience strong desires for novelty, our situations to change or the growing anxiety associated to the unstoppable change coming our way.
The likelihood that we will want to express this need or calm this stress through individualistic desires now is therefore extremely strong. Be it the need to be free, partake to new intimate experiences, meet new people, focus on our own ambitions and projects. However, since everybody will be in that exact same mindset, strife and arguments will be constantly simmering under the surface and we will be walking on eggshells for a few long weeks, just mind the boobytraps.
Some of the best activities to deal with the energy right now will be collective or competitive sports, dance, powerful spiritual practice or intense artistic production.
If you feel overwhelmed by the energy (strongly irritated, attacked or giving in to anger), please remember to try and step back, breath and check your motives.
The only way such release of energy is likely to be constructive is if you fight for justice or equality, with others in mind, any other motive might end up being strongly opposed.
This potent buildup of energy started with the last Full Moon, reaches a self-centered peak on this New Moon but is likely to be contained a few weeks more until it hold the potential to start drifting into personal dramas or collective unrest with the next Full Moon in Aries and New Moon in Scorpio. Both of those moons are under Mars rulership and therefore more prone to its activation, in the meantime our motives are however very likely to shift from self-centered objectives to the defense of our collective and individual freedom and future.
We might not realize it immediately but the decisions we are making right now, as old karmic tests and challenges reoccur, are defining the greater change we are embarking on. Will we give in to the drama and victimhood or finally realize that how we respond to those events can make all the difference?
Venus is just about to finish her transit in Scorpio. During this last month, you might have had to reconnect with old unhealed emotional wounds, experienced passionate moments, struggled with your money or closed a chapter of our sentimental life. The good news is that, after having reached the bottom, with Venus shifting in Sagittarius on Sep 8, our love and finance are about to be reborn and with it the need to explore new uncharted territories and embark into new adventures.
Also note that this new moon has the potential to bring back life into any ailing or dead relationship for the better if honesty, transparency, an openness to change and courage can be mustered.
The last Pluto-Eris square is also looming:
We are likely to see injustice being exposed again and fights for equality coming back to the forefront of the scene. Several new and old domestic cases of abuse emerged in the news over the last weeks but this was just the starter.
As importantly, with 7 planets currently retrogrades (from Jupiter to Pluto and Mercury), we might have felt like the world had almost stopped considering the absence of noteworthy news but this is all about to change as Pluto and the Social planets are now moving out of their lethargy:
Pluto moves direct just before this new moon.
If you do not want to be entangled into abusive situations over the next six months, taking emotional responsibilities to try new ways, gaining maturity and deeply exploring the emotional side of your relationships will be the only supportive path to your greater destiny and your evolution.
Hidden agendas, manipulations, traumatic events and power struggles are making their way back.
Saturn moves direct on Oct 10
Emotional challenges are resurfacing but with the necessary discipline and self-control you are likely to make more rational and informed decisions as you will see things with greater clarity.
The times still require efforts if you do not want to see old patterns resurface.
Governments and authority figures are likely to resume with coercive measures, supposedly acting in our best interest but are they really?
Note the correlation between the date of the last Eris-Pluto square (abuse) and the return of Saturn direct (expression of authority and limits).
Jupiter moves direct on Oct 17
Notice the correlation of this event with the activation of the Eris-Pluto square by the Sun. And yes, we might all be looking for the truth, building better vision of our future and defending our rights and freedoms.
Also note that Jupiter will be very close to the reactivation of the square with Uranus that saw Trump’s supporters gatecrash the Unites States Capitol on January 6.
Jupiter’s return and our path to expansion, growth and abundance is marked by a rather tensed aspect involving two hard oppositions and four supportive aspects. Nearly useless to tell you that the next six-month course of our evolution won’t exactly be a walk in the park but an amazing learning experience, no doubt.
Our mind, ideas and thought process will not perfectly be aligned with the lessons we need to learn from past wounds. We will either have the opportunity to work on unresolved issues or simply sabotage ourself, the choice always remain ours.
In parallel, a refusal to compromise on our values and a rather strong will power and control might lead us to situations where untapped rage is exploding in all directions. With Lilith involved, there is likely very little we can do about this as this release is required but once the frictional part over the period is likely to bring many blessings. The danger that this period holds is also to end or sabotage important relationships because of an uncontrollable desire for freedom.
Our growth will therefore depend on our capacity to prepare for disruption, commit to the work necessary to heal past wounds and welcome the change rather than quit, repress or move over too quickly.
Mercury moves direct on Oct 17
We are still being invited to reflect HOW WE RELATE to a specific area of our life.
Whatever the insights we will gain during this period and the message we will get from our subconscious, the next three months will help us to express our intuition and more rebellious side more harmoniously. We will have to be extremely cautious to the signal we pick as our sensitivity will be heightened and if that will make us more empathic, this might just as well make us more confused.
The macro themes activated during the shadow areas of this retrograde pertain to:
So yes, a rather potent New Moon where we are being asked to reconcile our strong desire for freedom and change with the need for communication and social peace so that past emotional wounds can effectively be healed, and we do not have to start from scratch again.
Of course, some situations will require more than just words to be addressed but considering the level of energy involved all will be better advised to keep their self-control as much as possible as this is just the beginning and much greater tests await closer to November and December.
Remember to track for hot temper, disengage as often as possible, channel into healthy activities and continue to heal old or develop new partnerships and relationships.
Now is the probably the right time to take a break every time you can!
Later, with the Full Moon in Aries and the New Moon in Scorpio, the time for decisive action is likely to show up and you will want to have all possible scenarios prepared for and still open.
May the light of wisdom and awakenings shine on your path to evolution
With compassion
G
